The 1950's focused on the Trinity River watershed and further development for canalization.  The Trinity River was crossed on the old Ferry which was in existence until the 1930's on the old San Antonio Road SH21.  The Lock & Dam was on Hwy. 7.

This is a photo of the Trinity River on SH7 at the Lock and Dam location.  The banks of the river shows it ringed with fishermen.  It was a favorite spot to catch crappie & catfish.
