Mrs. Elizabeth P. Dickey
Mrs. Elizabeth P. Dickey, 70, of Crockett, died Wednesday evening. May 20,
in a local hospital.
Mrs. Dickey had lived in Houston County all of her life, and was a member
of the First Methodist Church.
Mrs. Dickey had lived in Houston County all of her life, and was a member
of the First Methodist Chuirch.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Waller Chapel. Burial
was in the Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include the husband, Joe Dickey of Crockett; a son, Burtis Dickey
of Crockett, three daughters, Mrs. Weoda Paul of Beaumont, Mrs. Lova Priddy
of Hereford and Mrs. Hila Sue Fitch of Nacogdoches; a brother, Jessie Rhone
fo Crockett; a sister, Mrs. W. L. Smith of Lufkin; eight grandchildren; 10
great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. A. F. Dickey
Funeral services for Mrs. A. F. Dickey, 82, of Percilla, who died Wednesday
in a Houston hospital, were held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Evergreen Chapel
at Percilla, with the Rev. W. H. Wieting officiating. Burial was in
Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. Dickey was a lifelong Methodist, with membership in a Houston County
Church.
Survivors are three sons, E. L. Dickey of Grapeland, C. E. Dickey of
Percilla and J. E. Dickey of Palestine; a daughter, Mrs. Milton Adams of
Grapeland; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; Four sisters, Mrs.
Lizzie Rush and Mrs. Eva McKenzie, both of Houston, and Mrs. Randolph
Kellum and Mrs. George Moore, both of Liberty Hill.

Robert Avery Dickey
Mr. Robert Avery Dickey, 67, of Crockett, passed away Sunday, March 12, in
the Houston County hospital.
Mr. Dickey was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of Houston County.
He was an army veteran of World War II, and a member of the American
Legion.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Waller Chapel,
with Rev. E. D. Sarratt officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Memorial
Cemetery.
Survivors include three brothers, Joe and Delbert Dickey, both of
Crockett. and J. R. Dickey of Nacogdoches; a sister, Mrs. John Rich of
Crockett; also several nieces and nephews..

Mrs. Mary M. (Mag) Dickson
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary M. (Mag) Dickson, 85, will be held today
(Thursday) at 2 p.m. in the Parker Chapel, west of Grapeland, with Rev. Earl
Watson and Rev. Raymond Craig officiating . Burial will follow in Parker
Cemetery.
Grandsons of Mrs. Dickson will serve as pallbearers.
Native of Houston County, Mrs. Dickson was born near Crockett on July 28,
1874. She died in a Palestine nursing home Wednesday following a short
illness. Widow of the late Brince Dickson, she was a charter member of the
Rocky Mound Baptist church.
Survivors: two sons, Woodrow and Newton Dickson, both of Palestine; a
brother, Horace Key of Teague, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Taylor and
Mrs. Rosie Norris, both of Teague; 3 stepsons and five
step-daughters. Ernest and Preston Dickson, both of Houston, Edgar Edgar
Dickson of Grapeland; Mrs. Georgia Walling of Grapeland, Mrs. Luna Walling
of Trinity, Mrs. Sally Crawford of Mound City, Texas, Mrs. Pauline Keen of
Elkhart, and Mrs. Cordie Wright of Pasadena, Texas; Six grandchildren; a
number of great grandchildren.
Remains will be at Hassell & Foster, Palestine, until carried to Parker
Chapel for last rites.

Sam Edwin Die
Funeral services for Sam Edwin Die, 75, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in
Houston and Rev. E. M. Yeats officiating. Burial was in the Forest Park
Lawndale Cemetery.
Mr. Die, a resident of Houston, died Dec. 26 in the Trinity Memorial
Hospital. He was born Sept 2, 1899 in Polk County and had lived in Houston
for the past 50 years.
He was a member of the Magnolia Park Assembly of God Church and the Park
Place Lodge No. 1172 AF & AM. He was shop superintendent for Staylite Co. in
Houston for 47 years.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bertha Die of Houston; a daughter, Mrs.
Charlotte Jane Wright of Channelview; a daughter-in-law, Helen Die of
Houston; a brother, Alfred Bryant Die of Austin, and two grandchildren.

Mr. Willie (Pete) Dietz, 51, of Latexo, died in Latexo Monday evening.

Lowell Keaton Dikes, six months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dikes of
Lufkin, died Saturday morning in the Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.
Infant Dikes was born in Houston, Texas, on April 22, 1973.
Graveside funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the
Old Zion Cemetery near Kennard with Rev. Norman Garrett and Rev. Frank
Oswald officiating. Interment was in the Old Zion Cemetery.

Mrs. Alice LaDelle Dillard of Crockett died Friday evening in a Wharton
hospital. She was a member of the Methodist Church, and was a retired
postal employee.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Waller Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Jewel Strong officiating. Burial was in Evergreen,
Memorial Park.
Honorary and active pallbearers were retired employees of the local office.
Survivors include the husband, Dr. Frank Dillard of Crockett; a son, W. H.
Sharp of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Arnold of Houston, a brother,

Mrs. Missouri Annie Dishongh, 82, of Rt. 4, Crockett, died early Friday
morning, March 21, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Dishongh had lived in Houston County the last 40 years, and was a
member of the Church of God.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, in the Church of
God, with Reverends R. B. Pearcy and Allee Woodard officiating. Burial was
in the Taylor Cemetery in Trinity.
Pallbearers were Danny Gilson, Sammy Reed, Dale Dishongh, Gary Dishongh,
Mike Dishongh, and Charles W. Layfette.
Survivors include the husband, J. S. Dishongh of Crockett; four sons, Earl

Mr. Dixon, a resident of Trinity, died Jan. 1 in a Houston hospital. He was
born March 25, 1903, in Caldwell and had resided all his life in Trinity.
He was a member of the Dorcas Wills Baptist Church. He was retired from
Southland Paper Mills.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Blanche Dixon of Trinity; two sons,

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Callaway Memorial
Chapel, with Rev. L. B. Broach, pastor of the First Methodist Church,
officiating. Burial was in the Latexo Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Dominy, 77, of Grapeland, were held
Thursday, June 23, at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Grapeland with
the Rev. J. T. Riley and James Mosley officiating. Burial was in the
Livelyville Cemetery, east of Grapeland.
Pallbearers were Lewis Garrett, Otto Walling, Johnny Wilkins, E. W. Martin,
Leland Herod and Hubert Brimberry.
Mrs. Dominy, the former Miss Mineola Price, was born in Lovelady, on April
30, 1889, and was a daughter of the late Gus Price and Mrs. Laura Cooper
Price. A member of the First Baptist Church of Grapeland, she was the widow
of John Evrett Dominy, a long-time Houston County school teacher, who died
November 21, 1962. She died Wednesday, June 22, at 8 a.m. at her home.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Chester (Wilma) Cunningham of Grapeland;
five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Clayton and Harold Cominy, preceded her in death.
Arramgenents were by Hassell and Foster.

Church in Kennard, with Reverends R. G. Davis and D. L. Merritt
officiating. Burial will be in the Ivie Cemetery.

of Rusk and Charles Dominy of Centerville; five daughters, Mrs. Ethel

Mr. Dominy, a roofing contractor, was born May 4, 1899, in Kennard. He was

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church
of Kennard with Rev. Frank Oswald, pastor of the church, officiating.
Burial was in the Ivie Cemetery, near Kennard.

Mrs. Clara M. Dominy, 80, of Kennard, died Friday evening, May 14, in a
Crockett nursing home, after a long illness.
Mrs. Dominy was born April 8, 1891, in Houston County and had lived here
her entire lifetime. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Callaway Memorial
Chapel, with Rev. Frank Oswald officiating. Interment was in Corinth
Cemetery at Kennard.
Pallbearers were Herman Ainsworth, James Westbrook, Bobby Sam Harkins, Bobby
Ray Currie, Charles Currie and John Neal Morgan.
Survivors include a son, Alton Dominy of Crockett; a daughter, Mrs. Audie
Belle Hunziker of Pasadena; a brother, Joe Currie of Kennard; two sisters,

Ernest L. Dominy
Mr. Ernest L. Dominy of 103 Ann Street, Crockett, died early Sunday morning
in a local hospital. Born in Pennington, Texas, on Dec. 21, 1900, Mr.
Dominy, age 70, had lived in this area all of his lifetime and was a
retired school administrator.
He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Crockett and a
veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Dominy
was a member of all Crockett Masonic Bodies which include Lothrop Lodge
#21, AF & AM; Trinity Chapter #4; Trinity Commandery #91. He was also a
member of Hella Temple Shrine of Dallas.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Pauline Johnson Dominy of Crockett; a
daughter, Mrs. Angie Dann Rodriquez of Pasadena; two brothers, Wesley
Dominy of Groveton and Horace Dominy of Pennington; two sisters, Miss Velma
Dominy of Pennington adn Mrs. Claudie Cyr of Indiana.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Callaway Memorial Chapel
with Rev. E. P. Ramsey officiating.
Pallbearers were Deal Craven, Tommie Allee, Thomas W. Sherrod, Herman Knox,
Reese Heard, and William Turner.
Interment was in Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett.

Mr. William Eddie Dominy, age 73, of Houston, passed away in Houston
Monday, May 6.

Missionary Baptist Church in Pennington. Interment followed in the Hill
Cemetery.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Effie Dominy of Houston; one son, Mack
Edward Dominy of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Coyle and Mrs. Lillian
Dunnam, both of Latexo, and Mrs. Leona Brooks of Grapeland; one brother,

Mr. Terry Doyle Dominy, 22, of Groveton died Saturday night in a Lufkin
hospital, due to an automobile accident. A lifelong resident of Trinity
County, Dominy was employed with a seismograph company.
Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. in the Pennington Baptist
Church, with Rev. Gail Hogg officiating. Burial was in the Pennington
Cemetery.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Juanita Dominy of Groveton; his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Odean Dominy of Groveton; two brothers, Jackie and Johnny
Dominy of Groveton; three sisters, Mrs. Nelda Garcia of Anchorage, Alaska,
and Peggy and Mattie Dominy, both of Groveton; a grandmother, Mrs. Belle
Doyle of Groveton.

Marion Quince Dominy
Mr. Marion Quince Dominy, Sr., 84, passed away in Trinity Memorial Hospital
Tuesday, Feb. 26.
Quince, the sixth son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel J. Dominy, was born
at Pennington, Sept. 11, 1878, and spent his entire life at the Daniel J.
Dominy home with the exception of two years spent in Tucumeari, New Mexico.
He was married to Miss Nolia Holmes in 1911. To this union five chidren
were born. His wife, Nolia, preceded him in death in 1958.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 28, at 2:30 p.m. in the
Pennington Baptist Church, with Rev. Gayle A. Hogg, pastor and Rev. J. T.
Riley, former pastor, officiating. Miss Mary Nelms was the organist and
Miss Margarette Stevenson of Dallas was the soloist. He was a member of the
Pennington Baptist Church since 1911.

He is survived by one son, Marion Q. Dominy, Jr. of Pennington; four
daughters; Mrs. Elma Craven of Pennington, Mrs. Audrey Crowe of San
Augustine, Mary Dominy of Dallas and Mrs. Thama Cook of Highland Park,
Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Mittle Arnold of Groveton; ten grandchildren and a
host of relatives and friends.
Interment was in the Pennington Cemetery with Waller Funeral Home in charge
of arrangements

Mrs. Mattie P. Donner
Mrs. Mattie P. Donner, 86, of Houston, died Friday night. Mrs. Donner lived
in Houston County for 35 years before moving to Houston. She was a member
of a Baptist church.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Waller Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. E. P. Ramsey Jr. officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen
Memorial Park.
Survivors include four sons, Aubie Donner of Houston and Robert Donner of
Rusk; four daughters, Mrs. C. R. Noland, Mrs. J. L. Randall and Mrs. L. J.
Waller of Crockett; a brother, William Thorton of Lexington; 21
grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

Willis Clinton Donner
Mr. Willis Clinton Donner, 61, of 2128 Cromwell, Houston, passed away
Thursday, April 22, in a Houston hospital.
Mr. Donner was a former resident of Houston County and was a member of the
Penntecostal Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Waller Chapel, with
Rev. Thomas Brown officiating. Interment followed in the Hagen Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, George W. Donner of Houston and Joe H. Donner
of San Antonio; two daughters,, Mrs. Raynell Stone of Houston and Mrs.
Laverne Bradshaw of Smithville; a brother, Shadon Donner of Lovelady; two
sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Currie and Mrs. Ida Gallager, both of Trinity; two
grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.

Willis Bruce Donner
Mr. Willis Bruce Donner, 76, pulpwood contractor of Trinity, died Monday,
Jan 9, in Galveston following a short illness.
Mr. Donner was born Sept. 20, 1884, in Alabama, and was a member of the
Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mae Bell Donner of
Trinity; two sons, Shadon of Lovelady, and Willie of West Point, Texas;
three daughters, Mrs. Ida Lue Gallagher of Diboll, Mrs. Daisy Harrelson of
Lovelady, and Mrs. Henrietta Currie of Trinity; two brothers, James of
Houston and Henson of Garland; 11 grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan 10, in the Callaway
Memorial Chapel with the Rev. A. S. Lee, Baptist minister of Crockett,
officiating. Interment was in the Hagen Cemetery, and pallbearers were
Jesse Ennis, Leroy J. Randall, Elmo Donner, George Donner, Archie Currie,
and R. F. Conner.

Shadon Donner
Mr. Shadon Donner, 63, of Star Route, Lovelady, died Saturday afternoon at
Lovelady.
Mr. Donner was born Aug. 14, 1907, and had lived in Houston County for the
greater part of his lifetime. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and
was a veteran of World War II.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Callaway Memorial
Chapel, with Rev. Dave Schaefer officiating. Interment was in the Salem
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harold McKenzie, Hollis Huntsman, Delbert Wilson, Jack
Craven, J. R. Smith and John F. Knox.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Louise Donner of Lovelady; a daughter,
Miss Brenda Donner of Lovelady; two sisters, Mrs. Henritta Currie and Mrs.
Ida Gallagher, both of Trinity; also several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Evelyn Dorman
Mrs. Evelyn Dorman, 50, of Austonio, died Sunday in a Palestine hospital.
Mrs. Dorman was born Oct. 8, 1919, in Houston County. She was a member of
the Austonio Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Callaway Memorial
Chapel, with Rev. Joe G. Gilchriest of the Austonio Baptist Church
officiating. Burial was in the Boggs Cemetery.
Survivors include her step-mother, Mrs. Dovie Cheairs of Grapeland; two
sisters, Mrs. Edith Christian of Austonio and Mrs. Mary Lois Patrick of
Porter Springs.

William Lee Dorman
Mr. William Lee Dorman, 63, of Austonio, died in a local hospital Tuesday,
following a lengthy illness. He was born Aug 4, 1900, in Madison County.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Joe G. Gilchrist
of the Austonio Baptist Church officiating, in the Callaway Memorial
Chapel. Burial was in the Alphin Cemetery near Midway.
Pallbearers were, J. B. Coon, Jimmy Coon, Vernon Cheairs, Lawrence Nettles,
John N. Maples, and Will Ivy.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Evelyn Dorman of Austinio; a brother,
Spencer Dorman of Midway; two sisters, Mrs. Evie Maples and Mrs. Ruby
Oliver, both of Houston.

George Albert Dorn
Mr. George Albert Dorn, 34, of Houston, died at the Houston County Lake
Saturday, Aug 29.
Mr. Dorn had lived in Houston County the last three months. He was a member
of the Lutheran Church.
The remains were taken overland to the Memorial Drive Lutheran Church for
services Friday, with Rev. Jack A. Lien officiating. Burial was in the
Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Rose Mary Dorn; a son, David Dorn; two
daughters, Sherri and Robbin Dorn; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Dorn,
all of Houston; and a brother, Fred Dorn of California.

Mrs. Luther Dotson
Funeral services for Mrs. Luther Dotson, 66, of Crockett, were held
Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. in the Evergreen Chapel, Percilla, with the
Rev S. Dwayne Dodd and the Rev. Leslie L. Grounds officiating. Burial was
in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dee Peevy, Julian Coon, Ed Sissom, Wayne Hale, L. M.
Bruno, and Sammie Davidson.
Native and lifelong resident of Houston County, Mrs. Dotson the former Miss
Winnie Irene Howard, was born March 12, 1900, and was a daughter of the
late Walter Howard and Mrs. Minnie Bishop Howard. Member of the first
Assembly of God Church, Crockett, she died Monday, Jan. 23, at 3 p.m. in a
Grapeland hospital, following a long illness.
Survivors; husband, Luther Dotson of Crockett; two sons, Thomas J. Dotson
of Houston, and John Wesley Dotson of Crockett; a daughter, Mrs. A. C. Neal
Jr. of Crockett; step-mother, Mrs. Lura Howard of Dallas; two
half-brothers, E. J. Howard of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Rosa Lea Richerson of
Sallad; five halfsisters, Mrs. Ethel Hale of Crockett, Mrs. Arline King and
Mrs. Ardale Roach, both of Dallas, Mrs. Leota Garnson of Garland and Mrs.
Melba Ward of Fort Worth; five grandchildren.

Mrs. Arline Dotson, 63, of Crockett, passed away Sunday, June 18, in a
local nursing home.
Mrs. Dotson had resided most of her life in Houston County. She was a
member of the Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Assembly of God
Church, with Rev. J. R. Higginbotham and Rev. L. D. Sisson officiating.
Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Percilla.
Survivors include the husband, S. P. Dotson of Crockett; two sons, Joe T.
Dismuke of Houston and Harry R. Dismuke of Whittier, Calif.; her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Daniels of Crockett; five brothers, Darsey and Carlie
Daniels, both of Houston, Waymon Daniels of Livingston, Hilton Daniels of
Rusk and J. C. Daniels of Riverside; four sisters, Mrs. Girtie Lee Manace
