Mrs. Pearline Downs, age 84 of
Jacksonville, formerly of Houston County, passed away Tuesday, June
13, 2006 in the Hospice Home Place in Tyler. Mrs. Downs was born
Septemb'er 30, 1921 in Womble, Montgomery County, Arkansas and had
lived most of her lifetime in Houston County. Mrs. Downs was a
homemaker.
Survivors include her six daughters and sons-in-law Vera and Leroy Bynum, of
Copperas Cove, Tiny and Carrel Wilson, of DeKalb, Dorine and Don Kirksey, of
Whitehouse, Josie and Dan Hester, of Jacksonville, Anita and Chris Wilson, of
Maydelle and Janita and Emmitt Waller, of Jacksonville; three sons and daughters-in-law John L. Downs, Jr.
and Bob Whitehead, of Greenville, Nolan and Bessie Downs, of
Jacksonville and R.L. and Andrea Downs, of Chengdu, China; 17
grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren; three greatgreat-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband John
L. Down, Sr.; father Emmitt D. Johnston; mother Irene Johnston;
granddaughter Jennifer Hester; one sister Edna Langsford; and three
brothers Fate Johnston, Andrew Johnston and Wilmer Johnston.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Pearline Downs were held Saturday, June
17, at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev.
Elvin Alston officiating, pastor of the Taylor Assembly of God Church in
Taylor, Arkansas. Interment followed in the New Energy Cemetery.

HARRY CHANDLER
Mr. Harry Chandler, age 63 of Lovelady, passed
away Thursday, June 15, 2006 at his residence. Mr. Chandler was born
July 28, 1942 in Lovelady and had lived in Lovelady most of his
lifetime. Mr. Chandler was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served
during the Vietnam Conflict as a staff sergeant. Mr. Chandler was a
member of V.F.W. in Trinity Post #6899.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Chandler,
of Lovelady; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Glenn Burkhardt, of
Austonio; son James Zellers, of Trinity; grandsons Austin Burkhardt
and Ryan Burkhardt; sister Norma Bowman and husband Bill, of
Lovelady; brother Larry Chandler and wife Patti; numerous nieces,
nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by his parents Norman and
Faye Chandler; and two sons Billy Chandler and David Chandler.
Funeral Services for Mr. Harry Chandler were held Monday, June 19, 2006 at
10:00 a.m. in the CallawayAllee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bob
Lacey officiating. Interment followed in the Lovelady Antioch
Cemetery.

BILLIE JEAN McMULLEN
Mrs. Billie Jean McMullen, age 76 of Ratcliff,
passed away Sunday, June 18, 2006 in the Houston County Nursing
Home. Mrs. McCullen was born February 3, 1930 in Houston County and
had lived in Houston County for the past 24 years. Mrs. McMullen was
retired having worked as a beautician. Mrs. McMullen was a member of
the Ratcliff Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son Pat McMullen and
wife Anita, of Houston; grandsons Troy McMullen, of Houston and Kyle
McMullen and wife Carrie, of Pearl and; greatgrandchildren Cade
McMullen and Kailey McMullen; sister Joan Connally, of Silsbee;
brothers Bob McClain and wife Dot, of Deweyville, Larry McClain, of
Kennard and Jerry McClain, of Ratcliff; sister-inlaw Opal McClain,
of Ratcliff; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by her parents O.H. and
Mamie McClain; husband Sam McCullen; and two brothers Charles
McClain and Otha McClain.

Wayne Fore
Mr. Wayne Ray Fore,
was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 15, 1952 to Willard and
Eleanor Fore. Mr. Fore grew up in Crockett and graduated from Sam
Houston State University. Mr. Fore resided in Houston for the past
20 years and was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church and the
True Light Sunday School Class. Mr. Fore's positive attitude,
infectious smile and passion for life will be sorely missed.
Survivors include his loving wife Clarice Schoessow Fore, of
Houston; daughter Adrianne Leigh Fore, of Hous-ton; parents Willard
and Eleanor Fore, of Crockett; brother Raymond Fore and wife Deidra,
of Lufkin; sisters Lorraine Conner, of Crockett and Nona Tullos and
husband Don, of Lovelady; brother Robert Fore, of Crockett;
sister-in-law Randa Fore, of Crockett; devoted mother-in-law Norma
Schoessow, of Fredericksburg; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins,
nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
Preceded in death by his brother John Fore; brother-in-law Grover
Conner; and grandparents are Albert and Margaret Fore.

3:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home Chapel in Klein with Mr. Larry
Ideker and Mr. Tom Ramsey officiating.

Grover Frizzell
Mr. Grover Neil Frizzell,
age 49 of Crockett, passed away Friday, May 26, 2006 in the Houston
County Nursing Home in Crockett. Mr. Frizzell was born February 27,
1957 in Harris County and had lived in Crockett all of his lifetime.
Mr. Frizzell had worked as a truck driver and was of the Baptist
faith.
Survivors include his sons Jeremy Frizzell and wife Tracy Frizzell
and Jason Frizzell, all of Crockett; one daughter Brooke Frizzell,
of Crockett; four grandchildren; one brother Mike Wolf, of Crockett;
one sister Martha Wolf Thornton, of Trinity; numerous nieces,
nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by his father and mother Grover and Nell Frizzell;
sister Debra Vest Moore; and granddaugh-ter Madison Frizzell.

Mrs. Martha Hazel
Thompson, age 87 of Crockett, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2006 in
East Texas Medical Center-Crockett. Mrs. Thompson was born December
17, 1918 in Cayuga and had lived in Crockett since 1995. Mrs.
Thompson was a licensed vocational nurse. Mrs. Thompson was a member
of the Cayuga Drive Baptist Church, attended the First Assembly of
God Church in Crockett and was a member of the Women Missionary
Assn.
Survivors include her son R.L. "Bob" Thompson and wife Mable, of
Crockett; daughter Kay Ann Dale, of Van Nuys, Calif.; grandchildren
Hank Thompson and Amanda Taylor and husband Terry, all of Crockett,
Angelita Billman, Talitha Billman and Christanna Billman, all of Los
Angeles, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by her brothers Doyce, Woodrow and Bud Sellars;
and sisters Leona Morrison, Ruby Riley and Faye Coleson.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Martha Hazel Thompson were held Tuesday,
May 9, at 1:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Interment
followed in the Judson Cemetery in Cayuga.

Mrs. Freda Faye
Stephens, age 76 of Austonio, passed away Monday, May 22, 2006 in
the East Texas Medical Center-Crockett. Mrs. Stephens was born
August 20, 1929 in Colfax and had lived all of her lifetime in
Austonio. Mrs. Stephens was a housewife and a member of the Ash
Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years: Ned Stephens, of Austonio;
children Harold Stephens and wife Susan, of Crockett, Kathy Field
and husband Larry, of Waukesha, Wis. and Polly Shupak and husband
Brian, of Lovelady; grandchildren Dawn Lambright and husband David,

of Lovelady; great-grandson Trey Lambright, of Lovelady; brother

Mrs. Connie Ackley
Coborn, age 47 of Kennard, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2006 in the
East Texas Medi-cal Center-Crockett. Mrs. Coborn was born July 20,
1958 in Amarillo and was a resident of Kennard. Mrs. Coborn had
worked as a secretary and she loved the outdoors and enjoyed
children.
Survivors include her daughter Rene Arehart and husband Lyndon, of
Neb.; grandchildren Taylor Arehart and Skylar Arehart, of Neb.;
mother Marcella Ackley, of Kennard; sisters and brothers Linda
Kelly, of Buffalo, Ken-neth Ackley, of Corsicana, Susan Mitchell, of

Barbara Montgomery
Mrs. Barbara Montgomery,
age 91, left this world to hold the hand of God Saturday, May 20,
2006. Mrs. Mont-gomery was born April 19, 1915 in the Plain
Community to R.A. McKinney and Katie Mae Vaughn and lived her entire
life there. Mrs. Montgomery was a member of the Plain Baptist
Church.
Survivors include her two sons and one daughter Kenneth Montgomery,
Robert Lee Montgomery, both of Ratcliff and Donnie Hall, of
Hemphill; five grandchildren Jerry Wayne Montgomery, of Huntsville,

Services for Lavon Frisby, 75, of
Grapeland will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2006 at the First
Baptist Church in Grapeland with the Rev. David Bradley, the Rev.
Danny Hill and Dr. Jack Shoultz officiating. Burial will follow in
Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey &
Foster, Grapeland.
Mr. Frisby died Tuesday at his residence.
He was born June 14, 1931 in Grapeland to Louie A. and Minnie Dickey
Frisby.
Mr. Frisby was the owner-operator of a trucking company in
Grapeland. He was also a retired yard master from the Missouri
Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads after 43 years of service. He
served in the armed forces during the Korean conflict. He was a
member of the Christ Essential Baptist Church.
Mr. Frisby was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patsy
Harrison; and a brother-in-law, Doug Harrison.
He is survived by his wife, Eula Lea Frisby of Grapeland; daughters,
Tonya Frisby and Lisa Frisby, both of Grapeland, Sonja Corcoran and
husband Anthony of New Waverly; son, Kevin Frisby and wife Elizabeth
of Palestine; sisters, Gloria Redmond of Katy, Laura Averitte and
husband Ron of Palestine, Marie Chambers and husband C.R. of
Grapeland; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and an aunt,
Sylvia Masters of Palestine.
Pallbearers will be Glynn Pennington, Dick Bridges, Bruce Goolsby,
C.R. Chambers, Ronnie Averitte, Sammy Stewart, Jr. Baker and Sam
Duncan. Honorary pallbearers will be George Bartee, Marlin Nichols,

Ms. Adair died Saturday in Austin. She
was an LVN and worked several years for Good Shepherd Hospital in
Longview.
