In conjunction with the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the First Presbyterian Church, Crockett, Texas, in 2004, it was decided to copy and transcribe for publication as many of the church records as could be found.  During the process of transcribing these records, references to African-Americans were extracted and are published here for the use of researchers.

These records reflect 2 black Presbyterian churches- one was the CROCKETT COLORED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH and the other was the FREEWILL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH located at Concord, near Kennard, Houston Co., TX
