SAMUEL SNELL GRAVES - (Lovelady, Texas)

These graves (three) with only one monument are located on the Old Pine Grove Road north of Lovelady on the one time Sam Snell place, then son Quay Snell place, now Bennie and Cecil Carr's property.

The son died first and because of rains and impassable roads, was buried on the home place. Later, the father and mother were buried beside him.

On the 1880 Pct. 1, Houston Co. census it shows:

SNELL, Saml. A., age 47, b. NC, Justice of the Peace

Mary C., 49, wife

William C., 12, son

Hugh M.C., 10, son,

Dora I., 0, dau

Everett A., 8, son

Children all born in Mississippi
