BALIS EDENS FAMILY CEMETERY

The Balis Edens Family Cemetery is located about nine miles west of Grapeland on the John Edens League. From junction of FM Road 227 and 1272 in Grapeland, 6 Ih miles west on FM Road 227, turn south on side road. Continue south, cross Big Elkhart Creek, take first road to left and continue west. Lying on a hill between forks of Big Elkhart Creek, the cemetery is in a pasture now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Ken and Pete) Koehler. They have built a fence around it.

A concrete marker was erected June 12, 1934, by R. B. Edens and Ruth Ann Edens Dailey, only surviving children of Balis Edens at that time.

Submitted by Adolph Haynes and Balis and Bulah Dailey, 1977.
