1786-1833. She had two brothers that had Porter in their
names: Henry Porter MASSENGILL 17 Feb. 1803 and William Porter
MASSENGILL b: 20 MAR 1819 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.
Mary Massengale's grandfather was
John D. Chisholm who was also
grandfather to Jessie Chisholm of
the Chisholm Trail fame. John D.
Chisholm's third wife was a Cherokee,
Deborah Chisholm was from his 2nd
wife Elizabeth Sims.
John D. Chisholm had quite a
history involving the Blount Rebellion where he and his
father-in-law tried to create a separate country in Florida for
Cherokees and Creeks.
