This family was one of three Yarbrough clans that lived in Houston County in the 1800’s.

The other two were the families and descendants of:

  (1) Swanson Yarbrough and then

(2) Sarah W. (Dillard) Yarbrough the widow of William Yarbrough (1808 SC-1870 GA).

1.  GEORGE WASHINGTON¹ YARBROUGH was born 1821 in Haywood Co., NC, and died 1902 in Houston Co  TX.  He married (1) NANCY L. UNDERWOOD 01 May 1847 in Haywood Co NC¹.  She was born 1820 in NC, and died 1875 in Cherokee Co TX.  He married (2) ANNA "NANCY" WARD 13 Aug 1883 in Houston Co TX².  She was born 1820 in GA, and died Unknown in Houston Co TX.
